my Journey So Far...

Hi there, my name is Gary Francis Roche and I am an animator and storyboard artist, skilled in a variation of software such as Autodesk Maya, Maxon Cinema 4D, self-taught in Procreate, Adobe Photoshop, After Effects, and editing in Premiere Pro.

I have been fortunate to have contributed as a 3D Animator for a preschool TV series, Pop Paper City, at LoveLove Films, under the distribution of Aardman Animations, while learning and surrounding myself among the talent in a studio-based environment. I am now seeking other positions where I can offer my services whether in animation, storyboarding, or editing. I’ve worked as a freelance camera operator having mainly used DSLRs but had worked closely with a camera department on an Arri Alexa Mini when I got the opportunity to gain some work experience on a film set for an ITV drama. From there I’ve taken workshops and short courses, while attending masterclasses run by industry professionals, including having built a great collaboration with my editor in the group whom I, later, got to help shoot his independent documentary. I have recently earned a degree studying The Art of Computer Animation at Escape Studios where I helped work on animated shorts in teams that have won a handful of accolades, including an independent animated short I directed. This would then spur me to go on more independent endeavours creating no-budget short films.
