My Filmmaking Journey...

/demo_n (Computer Screen Horror Short) (2023)

ROLE: Director/Writer/Producer/Director of Photography/Editor/Sound Designer/Animator/VFX Supervisor/Layout Artist/Production Designer/Actor

PREMISE: A gamer plays a video game demo that was emailed to him in which he discovers it is cursed by a demonic entity.

NOTE: This was my latest venture in making another independent short, this time all by myself with nothing but my imagination, using the surroundings of my environment, and utilising the tools and resources I had at my disposal, along with my collective of skills that I picked up over the years to make this.

What the Hell Was That? (15-Second Horror Short) (2023)

ROLE: Director/Writer/Director of Photography/Editor/Sound Designer

PREMISE: A resident finds the lights in his hallway mysteriously clapping out and learns to find that he is not alone.

NOTE: This miniscule piece was a competition that I had submitted in the '15-Second Horror Short' category at the 'Blood Horror International Film Festival' over in Canada, and a 'Micro Shorts' submission at the 'ShockFest Film Festival.'

Burger Royale: A Short Prologue (Animated Horror Short) (2021)

ROLE: Director/Writer/Producer/Director of Photography/Editor/Sound Designer/Lead Animator/VFX Supervisor/Layout Artist/Production Designer/Voice Actor

PREMISE: A drunk walks into a burger joint and finds out it is run by a cannibal.

NOTE: This was an independent project I had orchestrated over one summer break with the help of 5 animators and a composer who offered to help. I'm currently adapting it into a slightly longer short film. It took home 18 awards, earned 2 nominations (one of those being the Hollywood International Golden Age Film Festival), and an honorable mention at the ShockFest Film Festival 2021 (where it took home the award for 'Best Animated Short Film').

Knife Crime Is More Than Just A Crime
(Short Documentary) (2019)

ROLE: Director of Photography

PREMISE: This is a documentary about the effects of knife crime and what it does to families and communities around London. We follow a couple who express their grievances over the loss of their son, Russell 'Barty' Brown, who was a victim of one of many known violent cases in the capital that is constantly on the rise to this very day.

NOTE: I volunteered as a cinematographer to a fellow aspiring filmmaker and friend, who I had collaborated with on an independent short film project prior. It took home the Bronze Award for 'Best Short Documentary' at The Charity Film Awards 2019.

Unplugged (Comedy Short) (2019)

ROLE: Director of Photography/Storyboard Artist/Location Scout.

PREMISE: What would happen if the internet went down for the day? 4 unlikely groups are forced to go back to basics, but will it lead to disconnection or connection?

NOTE: This short film made by myself along a cast and crew of aspiring filmmakers and actors as part of a 10-day #SetReady course at the National Youth Film Academy (NYFA), which was by far the most fun I've ever had prepping for 2 to three days and shooting for 3 days on.

Red Ribbons - Devised Play (Corporate Teaser) (2019)

ROLE: Videographer/Editor

PREMISE: A handful of mischievous teens venture into a gothic, desolate, and terrifying church filled with witchcraft taking over the minds of each and everyone of them. DreamArts' first ever collaboration with 'Le Enfants Terribles' on an immersive devised play held at the St. Mary Magdalene Church for one day only.

NOTE: This was one of my earliest assignments I took on as a freelance camera operator/videographer.

Fight or Flight (Short Documentary) (2018)

ROLE: Director/Producer/Writer/Director of Photography/Editor

PREMISE: 'Fight or Flight' focuses on 'The DreamArts Youth Company', an arts-based community theatre program based in the City of Westminster who teach, as well as help, children and young people through arts and therapy in changing their lives. But in recent years, DreamArts have had their funds cut and have been fighting their way in getting it back with the help of collaboration with other community programs, developing workshops, and taking every opportunity in giving the privileges to young people of working class backgrounds the chance---to give those willing within the community who strive for fulfilling lives.

NOTE: This short documentary was my first of a few attempts in filmmaking that I've done that year, having had committed all my time since the New Year of 2018; working prolifically in bringing these projects to a standard, with the resources and equipment I've had available to me, with a small crew who were willing to help me make this come to fruition along with the way.

Trapped (Horror Short) (2017)

ROLE: Actor

PREMISE: Kevin wakes up from unconsciousness in a public toilet of a café where he finds himself trapped by a supernatural force preventing him from making his escape until he comes to learn of a shocking truth beyond belief.

NOTE: I was a professional actor before making my transition in wanting to get into filmmaking.
